Chronicle of the Week: Pinot Meunier takes center stage!
Bought by Maxime Ullens in 2012, Domaine de Marzilly is located just outside Hermonville, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, Champagne’s northernmost sub-region.
The cuvée LPM, whose acronym stands for “La Petite Montagne”, alludes to the Saint-Thierry massif from which the grapes come. It could also have been LPM for “Le Pinot Meunier”, of which this Champagne is made exclusively.
Thanks to long maturation of the clear wines, 11 months in barrel and a little over 18 months on lees in bottle, the LPM cuvée perfectly combines tension and delicacy.
Thank you to @domainedemarzilly, whom we now represent with happiness and pride.
