Chronicle of the Week: “Gateway to Domaine Tardy”

A winemaker as discreet as he is talented, Guillaume Tardy almost embarked on a career as a physiotherapist, but a summer internship at his parents’ estate changed his mind.
Renowned for its quiet, long maturation periods of 16 to 20 months, this small domaine in Vosne-Romanée is carving out its place among the finest estates in Burgundy.
The Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits “Cuvée Maëlie” comes from a small, one-hectare plot of Pinot Noir planted in 1966 and located in Concœur, just above Vosne-Romanée.

“The advantage of Concœur is that we don’t have a big difference in maturity with Vosne. Even in the later ripening years, we always manage to come out on top.” Guillaume Tardy
