Chronicle of the Week: “In Roanne, friendship is sacred!”

Every year since 1978, winemaker Robert Sérol and his friend, three-starred restaurateur Pierre Troisgros, have selected a vintage wine together, the “Cuvée Troisgros”.
But in 1992, the two decided to go one step further, planting a vineyard together as a symbol of their friendship. A 2-hectare granite hillside ideally exposed to the south-east, this plot of “Les Blondins” is a little paradise in the middle of the Volcanic Loire.
Today, it’s their respective sons Stéphane Sérol and Michel Troisgros who brilliantly continue the bond of friendship that unites these two great Côte Roannaise families.
A cuvée of pure Gamay Saint-Romain grown using Biodynamic methods, combining generosity, finesse and minerality, a concentrate of raspberry, pepper and liquorice.
