Chronicle of the Week: Syrah in all its states!

Exclusively from the gneiss and clayey sand terroirs of the steep slopes of Côte Blonde, in the Lancement, Maison Rouge and Coteau de Bassenon districts, Domaine Vernay’s 2017 Côte-Rôtie “Blonde du Seigneur” confirms its legendary “fruity floral” touch.
This subtle blend, 95% Syrah partially in whole bunches and 5% Viognier for elegance and delicacy, is aged for 18 months in multi-wine barrels and Stockinger foudres.
The result is a distinctive Côte-Rôtie of great aromatic complexity and finesse, recognizable by its violet fragrance and oriental touch of sweet spice and black pepper.
