Chronicle of the Week: Clau de Nell

Located in Anjou, in the heart of unspoilt countryside, the Clau de Nell estate was acquired in 2008 by Burgundy icon Anne Claude Leflaive and her husband Christian Jacques.
Produced from 2 hectares of the “Bois Challuau” and “Clos Chartier” parcels, the 100% Grolleau cuvée is a wine of singular character.
Grolleau, a grape variety native to the Loire region and best known for its rosé wines and fruity, consensual reds, here takes on the air of a great red wine, with its floral, spicy fragrances and velvety tannins.
“We didn’t choose Clau de Nell, Clau de Nell chose us” Anne-Claude Leflaive
Congratulations to Domaine @claudenell49 for their exquisite, intense and harmonious interpretation of the 2017 vintage!
