Weekend Tasting: Domaine Picq, authentic identity

Located in the charming little village of Chichée, in the south-western part of the Chablis appellation, Domaine Gilbert Picq has a long winemaking tradition dating back to the 19th century.
Masterfully run by Gilbert Picq’s sons Pascal and Didier, this discreet estate cultivates 14 hectares of Chardonnay vines, with a high proportion of old vines.
The wines are aged exclusively in stainless-steel vats, in order to retain as much of their “tonus” as possible. The result is Chablis where you’d expect it: lively, iodized and lemony, with a long mineral finish.
With its low profile and discreet approach, we believe that Domaine Gilbert Picq belongs in the Pantheon of Chablis producers.

We look forward to seeing you at the Boutique this Friday and Saturday to discover with us two top-class Chablis, deliciously lively, precise and saline:
DOMAINE GILBERT PICQ – Chablis “Dessus La Carrière” 2019
DOMAINE GILBERT PICQ – Chablis 1er Cru “Vosgros” 2019

“25-year-old vines, for me that’s very young.”
