Chronicle of the Week: A lesson in balance!

Established since time immemorial on the Sancerre promontory, an island in the middle of the vineyards, the Vacheron family is one of Sancerre’s finest signatures!
Produced from a parcel of old Sauvignon Blanc vines facing south on a flinty clay terroir, Sancerre “Les Romains” was the first white parcel cuvée, launched in 1997.
The 2020 version is impressive for its aromas of ripe lemon, white pepper and warm pebbles. Extremely flavorful, the rich palate is perfectly supported by a smoky, saline mineral framework.
