Chronicle of the Week: Savoury Savart!

Frédéric Savart has skilfully taken over his father’s small estate of four hectares on the Petite Montagne de Reims, mainly in Écueil.
Located 10 kilometers southwest of Reims, the Premier Cru village of Écueil is planted with 75% Pinot Noir in a Champagne sub-region dominated by Pinot Meunier.
The “L’Ouverture” cuvée is the ideal gateway to the world of Frédéric’s Champagnes. A pure Pinot Noir expressive of ripe white fruit, with a hint of gentle oxidation and lovely volume.
