Chronicle of the Week: Thibault Liger-Belair
Stunning for this level of appellation.
From a parcel of Nuits-Saint-Georges bordering Les Argilats, Clos des Perrières la Combe rests on shallow, limestone-rich soil facing due south.
Planted in 1978, its sumptuous golden Aligoté grapes, harvested at perfect maturity, undergo a week’s pellicular maceration before fermentation, followed by 15 months’ barrel ageing to extract all their quintessence.
The result: Aligoté at its full potential!
Congratulations to @thibaultligerbelair for his exquisite, intense and harmonious interpretation of this Aligoté in the 2019 vintage!
