Weekend Tasting: “Vergisson from generation to generation”

Located in the Mâconnais region, nestled beneath the Roche de Vergisson in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, Domaine Barraud has been run by 5 generations of winemakers from 1905 to the present day.
This family estate cultivates 11 hectares of vines, exclusively in Chardonnay, in three different appellations: Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé.
Daniel and Martine Barraud brought their estate to the very top of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, but today it’s their children Anaïs and Julien who have taken up the torch with brio.
The wines are now in top form, and the 2020 vintage rewards the work of an entire appellation, with the addition of 22 Premier Cru climats – a first for the Mâconnais!
