Weekend Tasting: “Châteauneuf-du-Pape de lieux”
The jewel in the crown of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe has been owned by the Brunier family for six generations, since 1891 to be exact.
Daniel Brunier, assisted by his brother Frédéric, began the adventure at Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe in 1980. In the space of 20 years, their estate has become a benchmark in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
Once considered uncultivable due to the density of pebbles, the iconic “La Crau” plateau now produces the estate’s signature wine.
While this warm Crau terroir produces a deep, structured wine, the Pied Long plateau and the sandier Pignan lieu-dits produce wines that are always more elegant than imposing.
Adjacent to the Pignan and Piedlong lieux-dits, from 3 hectares in the La Roquète area, the Vieux Télégraphe estate produces an iconic white Châteauneuf-du-Pape with aromas of white flowers and ripe white fruit.
Join us at the Boutique this Friday and Saturday to discover two legendary Castels-Papals terroirs magnificently interpreted by the excellent Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe:
DOMAINE DU VIEUX TÉLÉGRAPHE – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc “Clos Roquète” 2020
DOMAINE DU VIEUX TÉLÉGRAPHE – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge “Piedlong” 2020
“We are the guarantors of a historic terroir, and we are careful not to muzzle it.” Daniel Brunier
