Weekend Tasting: “Éric Forest, on the rise”

Located in the heart of the village of Vergisson, at the northern extremity of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, the Éric Forest estate cultivates some of the finest terroirs in the Mâconnais.
Trained by his grandfather André Forest, whose vineyards he gradually took over in 1999, Éric Forest is one of the most talented winemakers of his generation.
Gifted, observant and empirical, Éric Forest asserts a style all his own, far removed from the fashions and dogmas of the moment. Precise, ripe but never heavy, his white wines shake up the hierarchy of Burgundy’s great whites.
The wines are perfectly balanced and ripe, neither too much nor too little, with a natural concentration and power balanced by the limestone minerality of Vergisson’s great terroirs.
