Weekend Tasting: “Thierry Germain, inspiring Cabernet Franc”

Located in Varrains, 5 kilometers south of Saumur in the Maine-et-Loire region, the Domaine des Roches Neuves oversees 28 hectares of vines managed entirely in biodynamic agriculture.
In 1991, aged just 23, Thierry Germain took over the reins of the Domaine des Roches Neuves. For over 30 years, this native of Bordeaux has delighted us with his great Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc.
Driven by a deep respect for plants and a perfect understanding of his soils, Thierry Germain has climbed step by step into the pantheon of the region’s winemakers.
With its tufa subsoil, the bedrock of the region’s great reds, Saumur-Champigny offers an exceptional setting for Cabernet Franc, which expresses itself here with finesse, enlivened by a subtle chalky mineral sensation.

Join us at the Boutique this Friday and Saturday to discover two authentic, precise Cabernet Franc cuvées from the brilliant Thierry Germain:
DOMAINE DES ROCHES NEUVES – Saumur-Champigny “Clos de l’Échelier” 2019
DOMAINE DES ROCHES NEUVES – Saumur-Champigny “Les Mémoires” 2019

“Before I fell in love with the vineyards of Saumur, I fell in love with the Loire, the stone and the light.” Thierry Germain
