Weekend Tasting: “Domaine Bachelet-Monnot, the meteoric rise”
Located at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, in Dezize-lès-Maranges, the young Domaine Bachelet-Monnot was created in 2005 by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, then aged just over 20.
Starting out with a few acres of vines belonging to their parents Geneviève and Jean-François, the two brothers now have a first-rate winegrowing estate with 22 hectares located solely in the Côte de Beaune.
Constantly striving to bring out every nuance of their terroir, Marc and Alexandre’s hard work has led to a meteoric rise to become one of the region’s elite producers.
Intense and delicious, the domaine’s red wines literally enchanted us with their combination of perfect ripeness, insane energy and delicious fruit.
Join us at the Boutique this Friday and Saturday to discover two sumptuous Maranges interpreted by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet, both graceful and profound:
DOMAINE BACHELET-MONNOT | Maranges 1er Cru “La Fussière” 2020
DOMAINE BACHELET-MONNOT | Maranges 1er Cru “Clos de la Boutière” 2020
“We make reds that drink well young and have excellent ageing potential.” Marc Bachelet
