Weekend Tasting: “Domaine Matrot, two sisters in a duo”
Established in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune for 6 generations, Domaine Thierry and Pascale Matrot is a great family adventure that began in 1835.
Thierry and his wife Pascale have now handed over to their two daughters, Adèle, the eldest, and Elsa, the youngest, who have been with them for a long time. They produced their first vintage with brio in 2016.
The wines, aged for up to 18 months in up to 20% new barrels, are precise and fine. Slightly more renowned for the greatness of its Chardonnays, Domaine Matrot produces remarkable wines in both colors; the Pinot Noir here is dazzlingly intense!
The current new generation has succeeded in preserving the estate’s fundamentals while adding an extra touch of finesse, making the wines accessible younger without altering their great ageing potential.
We invite you to join us at the Boutique this Friday and Saturday to discover two classy Pinot Noirs, interpreted by the excellent Domaine Matrot:
DOMAINE MATROT | Auxey-Duresses 2020
DOMAINE MATROT | Maranges “Vieilles Vignes” 2020
“We have an exceptional terroir and we treat it as such.” Thierry Matrot
