Founded in 1942, Domaine Arlaud has steadily raised the standard of its wines to achieve remarkable precision of texture and aroma. Today, the domaine is a benchmark on the Côte de Nuits, offering wines of exemplary finesse.
The third generation to run the estate, Cyprien Arlaud and his sister Bertille take meticulous care in cultivating the family’s 15 hectares. Certified Biodynamic since 2014, the estate wishes to let the vines express themselves freely so that they bring their grapes to perfect ripeness in optimal sanitary conditions. Aware of the impact of human intervention in the cultivation of vines, a responsible approach is implemented, enabling the grapes to express the full characteristics of each terroir.
Our attention to detail continues in the winery, where the grapes pass through three different sorting tables before being vinified by gravity. Gentleness is the order of the day to reveal the personality of the grapes at their best. Depending on the vintage and the plot, some cuvées contain a proportion of whole grapes, giving them even more character. The wines are authentic reflections of the combined characteristics of soil and vintage. No standardization, no miracle recipes: Cyprien and Bertille just listen to their vines.
The “star” grape representing 95% of the estate’s cuvées, Pinot Noir reveals floral notes in every bottle, combining finesse and intensity. Year after year, the consistency and balance of the wines deliver magical emotions, confirming the estate’s status as a Côte de Nuits icon.
