The result of sharing the vines of Bernard Michelot’s family estate, Domaine Bernard Bonin was created in the late 1990s by Véronique Bonin, Bernard Michelot’s granddaughter, and her husband Nicolas Bernard.
From the outset, Véronique Bonin and her husband advocated values of authenticity and respect for plant heritage. All the Premiers Crus are ploughed with horses, and copper is no longer used in the vineyards, so as not to alter the natural balance of the soil. Cherishing their vines on a daily basis, Véronique and Nicolas harvest grapes with perfect ripeness and concentrated, well-balanced flavors. These grapes are also preserved in the cellar, where each barrel houses the same cuvée, year after year, so that it can be imbued with the same terroir. All these details combine to produce pure, precise and sincere wines. One of the finest examples of the singularity of Meursault terroirs.
