In the Esmonin family, more than blood, it is wine that runs in the family veins. Sylvie Esmonin continues the family winemaking tradition initiated by her father at Domaine Michel Esmonin and brings a breath of fresh air to it.

Returning to the family domaine in the early 1990s, Sylvie Esmonin, an oenologist and agricultural engineer, does her utmost to bring her own personality to the wines, while scrupulously preserving the expression of each terroir. In 1998, she took sole charge of the estate, which she then renamed. Since then, she has never ceased to sublimate the terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin.
The legendary parcel of Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques, divided between 5 different producers, has been given its rightful place at Domaine Sylvie Esmonin. The atypical exposure of this parcel means that, compared with neighboring parcels, it receives one hour more sun each day. As a result, this plot produces grapes of exemplary concentration and ripeness. With 1.6 hectares on this mythical Clos Saint-Jacques, the domaine is the second largest owner of this exceptional climate, and all its wines benefit from the same care, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Controlled yields and the organic practices applied at the estate produce berries rich in flavor. The absence of insecticides, weed killers and anti-rot treatments for over 30 years means that the vines are able to give the best of themselves.
Fleshy and full-bodied, the wines enjoy a few years in the cellar before revealing their deepest secrets.
Sylvie Esmonin is at the helm of this wonderful winegrowing adventure, producing wines of anthology, a blend of pleasure and personality.
