The name of this legendary Burgundy vineyard is synonymous with the talent of Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin. Of Lebanese origin, this couple, passionate about wine and Burgundy, produce nectars of incredible depth.
The heritage of the Cistercian monks and their know-how lives on in Burgundy, thanks to Mounir and his wife. Trained in Jerusalem by his uncle, the abbot, Mounir was enriched by this precious ancestral wine culture during seven years spent by his side in the heart of a monastery. Nicknamed “The Monk” by his friends, the monks called him “Lucien”. When he and his wife moved to Burgundy in 1999 to set up their own domaine, the name was an obvious choice: Lucien Le Moine. A “haute couture” négociant, the domaine selects the finest wines from its prestigious winegrower friends, which it then ages with care and kindness. Each terroir benefits from a tailor-made barrel, allowing it to reveal its full typicity.
The wines are of such elegance and precision that their winegrower friends no longer hesitate to give them a few fine grapes to magnify. Today, the estate is home to a maximum of one hundred wines. The selected cuvées are mainly composed of renowned premier and grand crus. The wines are unrivalled in their elegance and offer a journey to the heart of Burgundy’s exceptional terroirs. The entire range is available in very small quantities, and the wines, acclaimed by enlightened wine-lovers everywhere, are true nuggets that are hard to find.
The couple’s genius is not confined to Burgundy: since 2009, Mounir and Rotem have been serving the wines of Châteauneuf du Pape.
